Trainerize and TrueCoach alternatives for in-person PTs (2026)
6 min read · Updated 18 October 2026
Trainerize, TrueCoach and Everfit are built around programmes: workouts in an app, progress tracking and messaging. That suits online coaching. An in-person PT's day is mostly about booking sessions, counting packs and getting paid. We make Coachfront. Facts come from each company's own website, linked at the end.
What an in-person PT needs day to day
- Book clients into regular slots, and move them easily
- Count sessions left on each pack, including late cancels
- Take payment for packs and renewals

When a programming app is the right pick
If most of your clients train on their own between sessions and you write their programmes, a programming app earns its price.
When you need booking and packs first
If your clients train with you in person and the programme lives in your head or a notebook, you mainly need booking, packs and payments. Paying per client for workout features you don't use adds up as you grow.
Using both
Some trainers keep a programming app for workouts and use a separate tool for booking, packs and payments. Coachfront does booking, packs and payments, and you can write a client's week of training in it too. It has no monthly fee.
Before switching, list the features you used last month.

Quick answers
- Is Trainerize good for in-person personal training?
- It can handle booking inside its client app, but it's built around programming. If you mainly need booking, packs and payments, a booking-first tool may suit you better.
- Does TrueCoach do appointment booking?
- TrueCoach's pricing page describes workout scheduling and Stripe payments. It doesn't describe client appointment booking, so check with TrueCoach if you need it.
- Can I use a programming app and a booking app together?
- Yes. Some trainers write programmes in one app and handle bookings, packs and payments in another.
